The Pathways Program was established in the late 1990's to specifically assist employees who were being made redundant as a result of the closure of the Newcastle Steelworks.  A team of dedicated HR professionals were commissioned to assist several thousand employees with their career, financial planning, retraining and retirement needs.

Such was the success of the program overall, with both private and public sector entities requesting details on the Pathways model; Pathways Employment Services commenced private operations in 2000 to meet the outplacement and recruitment needs of the business community.

In addition to providing outplacement, recruitment and temporary staff, Pathways has assisted various state and federal government agencies with downsizing applications.

Since commencing commercial operations Pathways has provided recruitment services on a national basis and managed another six major industrial closures for corporate clients.

Thousands of individuals have been assisted into new careers following the assistance made available through the Pathways Program.

Recognising the need to compete on an equal footing with global and national personnel agencies, Pathways was successful in gaining certification for its Quality Management System to ISO 9001:2000 in May 2002.

The inherent disciplines that a Quality Management System instils in the procedures and practices of a business have enabled Pathways to prosper by providing a superior service to clients.
